The Benefits of Owning an Antique or Vintage Timepiece
Watch & Clock Descriptions
Warranty & Returns Policy
There are many benefits in purchasing antique and vintage timepieces. By acquiring an antique or vintage watch, you will be the owner of a distinctive piece of craftsmanship which will be different from those worn by the vast majority of the population. In your possession will be an item which has been beautifully crafted with care, a level of which these days is usually only found on the most expensive timepieces. Some antique and vintage pieces can be very interesting as they include unusual design features or functions which are no longer seen on modern watches. Others may have an interesting story connected to them; you could have the opportunity to own a small piece of history! So popular have vintage watches become that many manufacturers have started to release new models whose design features incorporate the vintage style, some are even re-releasing up-to-date versions of their classic models. Being items that cannot be purchased 'off the shelf' from mainstream stores, antique and vintage watches can make very interesting, unusual and sometimes unique gifts. By choosing vintage, you may also have the chance to own a top brand timepiece for a fraction of the price you would pay for a current model. Even though certain vintage models have recently become so desirable that their value far exceeds the cost of a brand-new model, many can be purchased for much less and therefore represent great value for money. Lastly, owning an antique or vintage watch could also represent a sound investment. The majority of vintage watches have steadily increased in value over the last few years; some models have risen by a staggering amount!
As well as photographs showing the watch, case and movement (where possible), each timepiece's listing is broken down into separate sections which describe the case, the dial and the movement's composition, specification and condition. The condition is measured in percentage form (100% being best possible condition). Unless otherwise stated, all watches listed are in good working order. When the time keeping of a watch is described as "good", this indicates that when tested, the timepiece was accurate to within approx. 2 minutes per day. Depending on age they are guaranteed to keep time within 3 minute per day (see warranties and returns policy below). More often than not the water resistant and shock absorbent qualities (where applicable) of pre-owned and 'new/old stock' watches on this web site are likely to be adequate, but this should not be assumed and cannot be guaranteed.
